Coordinator for a Human Rights Defenders Project

The Project Coordinator will:

  • Manage a project that will protect Human Rights Defenders (HRDs);
  • Conduct consultations with various stakeholders including Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Human Rights Organizations and Networks and other individuals;
  • Draft policies and procedures related to the project;
  • Liaise with partner organizations and relevant government agencies;
  • Attend case conferences and seminars related to the project;
  • Be in-charge of over-all implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project;
  • Write and submit regular reports;
  • Coordinate with other entities in the Asia-Pacific Region that relate to the project’s objectives;
  • Execute other work related tasks that may be assigned by the Section Director

Candidates must;

  • Be adept at working with HRDs and their varying advocacies;
  • Be willing to learn and go on field and community visits;
  • Have excellent skills in writing and communication;
  • Be capable of handling responsibilities with minimum supervision and can adapt to new tasks and situations;
  • Be a team player with the ability to relate well with people;
  • Share the organization’s VMG in advancing and promoting the rights of the poor and marginalized sectors;

Preferably, candidates must also

  • Have a background in Legal Resource NGO work;
  • Be able to start immediately;
Duration of contract is for one year and renewable for another year subject to performance evaluation.
