Listen to the stories of Muslim sister-femcees, Miss A & Fateeha of MoroBeats, Amnesty International Philippines featured Artists for Amnesty for 2025.
Ms. A and Fateeha, the only femcees (female emcees) of the group, MoroBeats, began rapping and writing their own lyrics at a young age. Faced with discrimination against their religion in school, they didn’t yield—instead, they transformed those experiences into powerful verses.
Refusing to falter in the face of prejudice for being women in a male-dominated culture, they fight back with talent and musicality. Their music reaches audiences who also endure bullying, discrimination, and injustice—bringing with it a message of empowerment and inclusion.
About MoroBeats
Facing diversity is nothing new to the music collective, MoroBeats. Founded in 2014 by DJ Medmessiah, Morobeats started as a private group in which individuals could showcase their own dialect, instruments, and sounds, free from the stigma associated with “Moro”. It wasn’t until 2015 when the group evolved into not just a music collective, but a group of individuals celebrating their roots and individuality with Hip Hop as their platform.
Pioneered by DJ Medmessiah, Zaki, Rapper Mista, Miss A, Fateeha, and Rudic, their members now include Tha Wizard, Dizzy D of H20 Klann, Prophecee, Malik, Teemo, Naus, and JMara. Each one of them has their own story to tell, united by a shared goal to fight social injustice, discrimination, and uphold human rights.
