Mark Angeles is a poet, fictionist, and editor from Caloocan City, Metro Manila. He teaches literary translation and experimental fiction at the Department of Creative Writing, University of Santo Tomas. His recent works include Wasakan ng Puso (8Letters, 2024), a compilation of 15 years of love and political poems, and Ang Huling Emotero (University of the Philippines Press, 2021), a collection of 144 dagli or Filipino micronarratives. His poem “Assemblages” relates the atrocities of the Netanyahu regime to that of the Duterte regime; while “About Body Parts” is an exercise on using human body parts as metaphors for poverty, abuse, and fascism.
