A global campaign is a long-term campaign that has at its core a series of campaign projects. These projects work towards a specific goal, framed as an aspirational statement, which would contribute to long-term social change if achieved. AI identifies a strategy that has entry points to these areas of social change where we can make progress through campaigns to deliver specific change. Each Project within a Global Campaigns is a time limited (e.g. over 12-24 months) series of planned activities towards a specific objective. Global campaigns are global through their problem, solution or action. In line with the decision of the 2003 ICM, all parts of the AI movement would be expected to prioritize engagement with global campaigns. CURRENT GLOBAL CAMPAIGNS CONTROL ARMS The unregulated global arms trade inflicts misery worldwide. Every year thousands of people are killed, injured, raped and forced to flee their homes as a result. States are resorting to practices which have long been prohibited by international law, and have sought to justify them in the name of national security.
